ASSE Exam Terms and Procedures

Modified on Fri, 03 May 2024 at 10:12 AM

The following instructions apply to ASSE 12080 certification and recertification:

1. Complete the applicable training--the 14 certification courses or the recertification course. You have 12 months to complete the training but for best success, we strongly recommend you finish within 3 months, preferably 1 month. The recertification training can be taken up to 6 months before your certification expires.

2. Complete the study guide to prepare for the exam.

3. Purchase the exam (LAMPS Purchase page) no more than 1 month after completing the course(s) and study guide. You cannot purchase the exam until you have completed the training.

4. Take the exam no more than 30 days after ASSE sends directions. We strongly recommend you take the exam right after completing the training and study guide, while the material is fresh in your mind.

ASSE sends out exam access only during the first week of each month. You can typically expect to receive directions the first week of the month after you purchase the exam. However, if you purchase the exam at the end of a particular month, there is no guarantee you will be on the list, and therefore you may need to wait until the following month. This is because ASSE requires LAMPS to finalize the list of test takers before the end of each month. For example, if you purchase the exam on January 21 or earlier, expect to receive your exam access in early February. If you purchase the exam on January 28, you may end up waiting until early March.

If you do not receive an email from ASSE with the exam directions within the time periods mentioned above, email support@hcinfo.com.

Here are instructions from ASSE about the exam:
