Transferring a WMP to Another Account

Modified on Mon, May 18 at 4:32 PM

Here is the process for changing a purchaser account for a Plan, Benchmark, or Complete site:

Scenario A: You would like to change the username (email address) on the account that purchased the site, without changing the organization.

Please contact LAMPS Support via email (support@hcinfo.com) or the Help link and provide the following information:

  • Exact site name
  • Email address of the existing Purchaser
  • New email address you would like on the account

In most cases, if the existing username (email address) has no e-learning courses, the existing and new usernames have no other LAMPS accounts or permissions and are part of the same organization, and if the username change is not as a result of an organization change (e.g., merger or acquisition), HC Info can make the change.

Scenario B: You would like to "transfer" a WMP or other site type from one organization to another.

As an example, your facility may have purchased a WMP from a LAMPS Partner and would like the WMP transferred to your own organization or to another Partner. In this scenario:

  • Both parties - the current account holder (Transferor) and proposed new account holder (Transferee) - must agree to the transfer.
  • The Transferee should contact the Transferor to request the transfer of the WMP.
  • In some cases, the Transferor will request a transfer fee as compensation for its setup of the WMP and/or for the remaining subscription period. The LAMPS Support team will be happy to answer questions but will not become involved in negotiations or communication between the parties or in any other way act as an intermediary between the Transferor and Transferee.
  • HC Info must approve the transfer. If the Transferee is the facility for which the WMP was established, or is another HC Info authorized LAMPS Partner, then it is very likely that the transfer will be approved. If the proposed Transferee is a company that is not an HC Info authorized LAMPS Partner, then HC Info will not do the transfer. In this situation, with the Transferor's approval, the WMP could be transferred to the facility for which the WMP was established, and then the facility could hire whom it wishes to help with its WMP.
  • Prior to the transfer, the Transferor may want to remove certain documents (e.g., ones it considers private or proprietary) from the WMP, and remove its employees from the team members list. However, in the spirit of cooperation, the Transferor should not remove water system information or water quality data (e.g., Legionella, disinfectant, temperature test results).

Keep in mind that if a site is transferred from a LAMPS Partner to the facility for which the WMP was established, the renewal price will not include consulting services that the Partner may have been providing to the facility.

To request a Scenario B transfer:

1. The current account holder (Transferor) must send an email from the account holder email address to support@hcinfo.com, with the following text:

"Please transfer the following site from ______________________ [Transferor email address]) to ______________________ [Transferee email address]:

  • Site name: ______________________
  • Site address: _________________________________
  • Exp date: _________________

2. The proposed Transferee must also send an email to support@hcinfo.com, agreeing to have the site transferred to its username (email address). If the Transferee is unwilling to accept the site without first reviewing it (e.g., over concern that the WMP was not set up or updated properly), then the Transferee could ask the Transferor to add a Reviewer email address to the WMP as an audit/read-only user so the WMP can be viewed but not changed. In this case, the Reviewer username should NOT be the same Transferee username because that could block the LAMPS transfer mechanism.
